A letter to EHDC's Head of Planning and Building Control to highlight a pop-up petition urging EHDC to keep land south of Whittington Way in the Green Belt and cancel its plans for the site to be developed. Over 2000 people signed this petition.

While the vision and objectives of the plan are largely unexceptionable, many of them are expressed at such a high level of generality that several different plans could claim to be compliant with them. We do not believe that this plan satisfies the tests of 'soundness' required by the NPPF.

17 Sep: Clarification of BSCF's position on Green Belt.
An article was published in the Herts & Essex Observer on 10 September 2015 which led several readers to question the BSCF's position on the Green Belt. The BSCF subsequently wrote to the Herts & Essex Observer to clarify the position and the letter was published in the newspaper on 17 September 2015.
19 Aug: BSCF's response to planning approval for development of ASR 5 in Bishop's Stortford North.
BSCF's comments on the lack of any plans for a school to serve the residents of the new dwellings that will be created on ASR 5, now that planning permission has been granted.

Letter to East Herts Council Development Control stating further objections to planning applications relating to the proposed construction of 329 dwellings on land at Bishop's Stortford North.
If the applicants are confident of the soundness of their case let them appeal against the permission which has been refused so that it can be tested before an independent inspector. This fresh application is an abuse of process and we trust that permission will be refused on this occasion too.

BSCF's objections to revised plans for Regent Garage, South Street. The plans include the demolition of buildings and garage and the erection of 19 1-bedroomed dwellings and 29 2-bedroomed dwellings together with associated parking, access and landscaping.

6 Apr: BSCF's comments on Solum's public exhibition outlining their Goods Yard redevelopment proposals.
BSCF's comments on a public exhibition held by Solum Regeneration outlining proposals to redevelop the old Goods Yard site. The exhibition was held on 21 and 23 March 2015 at the Holy Trinity Church, South Street, Bishop's Stortford. Solum Regeneration is a partnership between Network Rail and Kier Property and is hoping to bring forward plans to redevelop the Old Goods Yard site around Bishop's Stortford station.

BSCF's comments on Aldi plans to enlarge premises and car park. Although the BSCF is broadly in favour of the renovation of this site, there are some serious traffic congestion problems that need to be taken into consideration.

BSCF's objections to proposed plans for Regent Garage, South Street. Although welcoming the ressurection of derelict land, the BSCF has serious reservations about the high density of the proposed dwellings, the overwhelming height of the buildings and the lack of parking space.

27 February: BSCF letter to Eric Pickles on Bishop's Stortford North proposals
The BSCF, in a letter to Eric Pickles, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, has requested that he ensures that East Herts District Council adhere to legal requirements (as set out by their own planning committee) whereby the new Local Plan needs to be approved before permission can be considered for the Bishop's Stortford North development. At present, the new Local Plan is only at the consultation stage.

23 Sep: Correspondence between BSCF and Cllr Ashley on Henderson planning decision Replies! 30 Sep and 10 Oct 11
Correspondence between the BSCF and Cllr William Ashley, chairman of East Herts County's Development Control Committee. The letters refer to the meeting of the Development Control Commmittee on 25 August which debated, and voted on, the Henderson Causeway development application. The BSCF maintain that the decision should be revoked. The second BSCF letter of 18 October notified Cllr Ashley that the BSCF intended to seek a judicial review of the planning decision.
20 Sep: Complaint against conduct of Mike Tindale
Letter from BSCF President, Michael Hurford, to EHDC's Deputy Monitoring Ofiicer, Jeff Hughes. The letter is a complaint againt the conduct of Councillor Mike Tindale who spoke at the Development Control Committee public meeting held on 25 August 2011.

This letter from the BSCF requests the Secretary of State to call in the Causeway planning application. The Secretary of State has reserve powers to direct the local planning authority (East Herts District Council in this case) to refer an application to him/her for decision. This is what is meant by calling in a planning application.

Email from a Stortford resident and parent to Councillor John Barfoot at Herts County Council. The writer asks how Herts County Council can possibly justify spending so much public money on a move that is opposed by so many in the town.
29 Jun: Letter and email to Eric Pickles opposing proposed super school
Letter and email from a Stortford resident and parent to Eric Pickles (Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government). The letter cites previous disastrous developments in the town and gives reasons why the schools super-school proposal should not go ahead.
22 Mar: Open letter in response to petition in favour of schools plans
This letter was prompted by someone called "Claire" who has been attempting to drum up support in favour of the super-school proposals. It takes issue with Claire's viewpoint and sums up the views of the majority very well.
